Q. In what form should I send the text?
A. A computer file is the best format. If you are sending a hard copy, please post it if possible, because faxes are sometimes difficult to read.

Q. How do you calculate estimates?
A. Estimates are calculated based on the number of words or characters in the original text. For translation from English or another language into Japanese, 200 words are counted as one page. The number of pages is multiplied by the unit price per page.

For translation from Japanese into another language, 400 characters are counted as one page, and the number of pages is multiplied by the unit price per page. Translations between languages other than Japanese are in principle calculated on the basis of the number of pages of the original text. You can check the approximate cost using the online estimate page.

Q. How is the unit price for translation decided?
A. The unit price varies according to the content, purpose, and format of the document. Unit price ranges are set out in the fee schedule. If you would like to obtain a unit price for a specific text, please send us a sample after e-mailing us.
